That was sudden
That was the first time I fell. The ship sank before it left the harbor, but I’m not angry or even sad that it ended. I’ll just have to figure life out for myself.
Every day I feel more and more like I’m just an extra to somebody else’s life story. That I’m not three-dimensional enough to be even considered for a bit part with a line or two. My so-called wonder years is almost ending, and I haven’t made anything worthwhile for anyone or myself. That’s not exactly lead character material, if you ask me.
Like I’m destined for some menial job. There’s comfort in the fact that most anyone can say that anything I’ll be able to do would be automatically for God and/or country. But that’s not saying much, when half your news feed is about nation building or some other buzz word on progress, so you’re forced to say the path you’re taking is for the benefit of somebody else. Posting narcissistic photos photoshopped and filtered is now a guilt trip. Selfish pretentious prick.
Sigh and go to sleep. Your angst is acting up again. You’re even referring to yourself in the third person now.

The typos are offset by the brevity of the disappointment. I may not finish on time.
I went to the UP Music Circle’s alternative classroom learning experience a few months ago. One of the speakers told us something about playing live music (Non–verbatim): “If you’re only playing music for music’s sake, then why are you playing in front of a crowd? Stay in your bedrooms and play your music there.”
That statement kind of pierced through my chest and went the other side. I’ve been saying to myself that I’d record and perform my songs in front of people, but all I have been doing is extending the deadline by gluing my eyes to the computer monitor, and my fingers to the keyboard. I can count the number of friends I’ve shown my songs to, and I dreaded every single second they listened to a cellphone recording, or a demo, or me just humming out melodies and playing acoustic guitar.
But somehow, I am now more content then I ever was, that I am now alright with the fact that all the unfinished and half–baked songs I wrote and am writing will never never see the light of day. I mean, what’s the point of releasing them into the wild, when someone will write and sing an ever better song?
And I admit now, more than ever, that I will forever be stuck here in musical limbo, neither getting better at playing guitar or singing, or even finishing God know how many albums’ worth of songs. I am musically declined.
And I feel fine about that.
Or maybe insecure isn’t going to cut it.
It’s because the time range of cartoons in the first .gif image is larger compared to the second. You’ve got cartoons from the Hannah–Barbera era up to the last “generation” of cartoons—Billy and Mandy, Kids Next Door, etc. Yeah, these are the better shows out there.
